The only greater joy to singing on your own, is singing with other people!
I run occasional Saturday Singing Days when we can concentrate for longer on different aspects of singing, and try and create a special atmosphere within the group.
‘‘It was lovely to be part of the Big Sing yesterday, thanks for making it so very enjoyable. We all felt very happy on the way home.’
How often have I heard that cry! So many people have been told at an early age that they can’t sing, and because this is usually linked with some sort of ridicule, the belief stays, and the fear of trying again dominates any attempt to prove this otherwise. The truth is that if you can talk you can sing, it’s as simple as that because you use the same mechanism. It takes me less than 5 minutes to show you this and prove that any note you sing is as good as any note I sing. It takes another 5 to show you that you can learn to sing the same note as me, and from then on you can start learning some songs and singing with others in one or other of my groups.
My four weekly singing groups are called
Sing for Joy!. They are open to all, regardless of your singing ability, I teach everything by ear and we sing songs from every corner of the world. If you want to feel uplifted, make new friends, and have fun then here’s the place to be.

Welcome to my web site, please enjoy having a browse and I hope that you get inspired to come singing in Norfolk if you don’t do so already. My passion is encouraging people to use their voice, both through singing, through speaking and through sounding. My singing work is done within the principles of The Natural Voice Practitioners Network whose primary aim is to bring singing back into everyday life.

‘Voicemale’ is a fantastic group of about 15 men who drink tea and eat homemade cake, oh, and they woo me into teaching them songs. Our current repertoire includes English, Russian and American. The group meets monthly in Aylsham, new members are made welcome to this too.

I am planning an exciting project in collaboration with Sarah Lewis of Norfolk Dance. It will be a fusion of dancers and singers coming together to perform, linking the two art forms. The dancing will be inspired and informed by the singing, (which will in part be improvisation), reflecting the moods that the words evoke. Work starts in January and the performance will be before Easter. Places are limited but contact me if you are interested.
