Plas Huan is is a popular holiday destination as it not only provides a haven for peace and tranquility to simply walk, talk, watch the sea and read books but, within easy reach, there is a host of things to interest and stimulate you.
For bird watchers the cliffs team with life playing host to nesting peregrine, gulls, choughs, ravens, oyster catchers etc, and the RSPB site at South Stack is a short drive away.
For walkers and cyclists, the Angelsey coastal path is on your door step, but for something a little more mountainous, Snowdonia is less than an hours drive away.
For golfers, there are no less than 7 courses on the island and you can purchase an Anglesey golf pass for a fixed rate to play several of them.. Within easy reach on the mainland you also have a host of other courses perhaps the most spectacular being glorious Nefyn.
For children there is the beach for swimming and sandcastle building, catching shrimps and collecting winkles, rock climbing and frisby. You can hire canoes and sail and you can collect shells. This is a good site for lots of information about things to do with kids!. which covers the whole island.
A holiday cottage on Anglesey -
This is possible as Plas Huan stands proudly on a ridge above Rhoscolyn Bay on Holy Island off the North West coast of Anglesey. It is the last cottage up a farm track, with main aspects to the south, the west and the north. You have this view on the left from all the upstairs bedrooms and you can Google earth it with LL65 2NZ to see the location. Plas Huan is the last house up the lane on the right.
Plas Huan was originally built as a house for workers on the local farm. My father bought it in about 1962 and proceeded to make it habitable for his family of 6 young children. We would go every school holiday 3 girls in one bedroom, 3 boys in the other and parents in the third room. How they ever fed us and kept us all clean I can’t imagine!!! But we used to have wonderful times on the beach, which was empty then, or clambering down the cliffs to explore, build bonfires with the driftwood or swim. All our cousins were holidaying in nearby cottages too so it was one big family party.
Plas Huan has been extended and improved over the years and now can either cosily accommodate 2, by simply sleeping downstairs in the annex, or up to 8 using the 3 upstairs bedrooms, one double and the other two with two single beds each. There is a spacious sitting room with an open fire, a rayburn in the kitchen, one bathroom and an additional toilet, sink and bidet.

My favourite meal in Plas Huan is breakfast. I make porridge on the rayburn and then sit and eat it at the table looking out of the window as I watch the sun rise over Snowdonia. I spend most of the day walking the cliffs, stopping to sit in my favourite places, to watch the birds and the waves. In the evening I love to see the sunset from the back window and then settled down to read a good book through the evening.... But then of course there’s lunch and supper, oh and I nearly forgot tea.....!
